I'm a bit behind in posting these, given that I started Maya animation course in Feb 2006. But anyway - here was the output of the first class.
Pretty happy with it for the first one - even though it's basically a "paint by numbers" exercise.
Follow the bouncing ball - literally. But it did give us the first introduction to Maya and the sense of what's involved: simple models, texture maps, physics, lighting, shading and rendering.
Unfortunately after this simple example, it's downhill from there in terms of the quality of the renders.
